Setting up a tubeless tire is not easy for the riders, but it is well worth the effort.A proper tubeless setup improves puncture resistance, ride quality, and rolling efficiency. Follow these steps for a successful installation. One thing should to know before you get started with the first step is what is the difference between using a tubeless tire and a clincher tire? The biggest difference is the tubeless tire without inner tire.
No inner tire means the air-tight and air-intakes are different in tubeless tire. The air tightness of clincher tire depens on inner tire, but tubeless tire depens on tire pad.
🔧 Tools & Materials Needed

Tubeless-ready tires (check compatibility with your rims)
Tubeless ready wheels
Tubeless valves((presta or schrader))
Tyre sealant (2-4 oz per tire)
Tubeless rim tape (unless your wheels have a solid rim bed)
Track pump or air compressor
Tyre levers (optional, for stubborn tires))
Rag or towel
Soapy water spray (helps bead seat)
Step-by-Step Installation
1.Prepare your carbon wheels
First you need to ensure that your rims are both tubeless compatible and up to the job of holding air.You have to remove the old rim tape if converting from clincher type.Clean the rim bed with alcohol to ensure adhesion.
2.Apply Tubeless Rim Tape
Wrap 2 full layers of tubeless tape around the rim, overlapping slightly.Press firmly to avoid air leaks.Cut the valve hole after taping (poke through with a sharp tool).
3.Install Tubeless Valve
Insert the valve stem and tighten the locknut securely.Ensure the valve seal is airtight (add extra tape if needed).
4.Mount the Tire
Start at the valve (for easier alignment).
Work the tire onto the rim by hand (avoid levers to prevent bead damage).
If needed, use tire levers gently (risk of pinching the bead).
5.Seat the Bead
Inflate rapidly with a high-volume pump or compressor.
Listen for two loud "pops" (bead seating into place).
If struggling:
Spray soapy water on the bead to help it slide into place.
Remove the valve core for faster airflow.
6.Add Sealant
Deflate the tire slightly.
Inject 2-4 oz of sealant through the valve (or open one side of the tire).
Rotate the wheel to distribute sealant.
7.Final Check
Reinflate to recommended pressure (check tire sidewall).
Spin and shake the wheel to spread sealant.
Check for leaks (submerge in water or listen for hissing).
💡 Pro Tips for Success
✔ Use warm sealant (flows better in cold weather).
✔ Shake sealant well before adding.
✔ Check pressure before every ride (tubeless loses air slowly).
✔ Replenish sealant every 3-6 months (dries out over time).
